has announced that Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas will be two of the drivers for its 2014 LMP1 car. The duo will begin testing the new prototype later this year. Porsche did not announce who the third driver for Le Mans will be.

“Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas are regarded as some of the fastest and most experienced sports car pilots in the world. I’m very pleased that we have these two men contesting the World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours for us from 2014”, said Wolfgang Hatz, head of Porsche R&D.

Bernhard has been raised with Porsche. He began his racing career as a member of the Porsche Junior Team in 1999 when he was 18 years old. He has won the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans, 2003 Daytona 24 Hour, 2004 12 Hours of Sebring and won the Nürburgring 24 Hours five times.
Dumas joined Porsche in 2004. He has raced at Le Mans 12 times and won the race in 2010. He has won the Nürburgring 24 Hours four times, all with Bernhard as his teammate.
