Porsche May Stretch 918 for Limited 2+2 Version

The car would retail for around €300,000 or less than half of the current 918. The carbon fiber monocoque for the car would be lengthened, but the V8 engine would still be mid-mounted. The extra length allows for small seats in the rear and reportedly two added doors. 

To make the car cheaper, it drops the hybrid components and relies on only the 4.6-liter V8 with 608hp.

Porsche is reportedly unhappy with the way the 918 project has gone with development over budget and the entire production run yet pre-sold. Using the technology and development for a second car is seen as a way to recoup the costs.
