head of R&D, Wolfgang Hatz, says that it still has some units of the 918 Spyder available, even though no one outside of the company has been allowed to drive the new super car yet. The car will go on sale in September with prices starting at $845,000 or €768,026, the upgraded Weissach Packages goes for $929,000 or €839,426.
“We have a lot of customers interested in it, but the car is expensive, and that high price point means that many of them want to drive it before they spend their money.
“When the first cars are ready, and the customers can drive them, I am confident we will sell them all. Already we have sold more 918s than we had at the same point in the launch process with the Carrera GTPorsche Carrera GTGermany, 2004 > 20075 photos

He did not say exactly how many 918s have already been sold.
The 918 Spyder is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 with electric motors connected to the front and rear axle and has a total output of 770hp and 553lb-ft of torque. It will hit 100km/h in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 199mph (325km/h). It will use 3.0l/100km of fuel and 70g/km of CO2.
