Porsche does not plan to reveal the new 991-chassis 911 until the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September, but that is is not stopping them from teasing what the newest version of its iconic model will look like.
The teaser filmed during hot weather testing of the new 911 tells us a few things. The car appears longer and wider than the out-going 997-chassis, and the engine appears to have moved up a tad. It also looks like the standard 911 will be getting the side-mounted air intakes that had been found only on the turbo models until now. There is a breif shot of the interior uncovered about a minute into the video that makes it appear mostly untouched except that the tumorous Sport Chrono is nowhere to be seen. Maybe it will not be available on the new, we can only hope.
Expect Porsche to drop more hints as the reveal gets closer.
