Motorsport Advisor Helmut Marko claims that Fernando Alonso is too focused on internal politics in an interview with Red Bull's magazine, The Red Bulletin.
"Fernando Alonso, for example, who is busy with politics and funny comments.
"Vettel ignores it all; he doesn't read the newspapers, or the internet. And that's the point, you see, we concentrate on our job: to make the fastest car and the best team possible," said Marko.
Marko then went on to say that Ferrari would be much different if it were still run by Enzo Ferrari because he would not have tolerated weakness in his team.
"I believe that there is no way old Enzo would have liked such defeat, but he would acknowledge the performance of the opposition.
"And then would whip his boys accordingly so they'd do everything to beat us.
"But not with such actions as we have recently experienced. Alonso is constantly involved in politics," said Marko.
Keep in mind, Marko has been a patron of Sebastian Vettel's career since the very beginning. Vettel has been a part of the Red Bull Junior Team since 1998 when he was 11. The racing team has been grooming him for his entire career.
Marko was a successful up-and-coming driver in the early 70s. He was a driver of the winning Porsche 917k in the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans and set the all-time lap record at the Targa Florio in an Alfa Romeo 33 in 1972. At the 1972 French Grand Prix, Emerson Fittipaldi's car threw up a rock that pierced Marko's helmet and permanently blinded his left eye and ended his professional racing career. After the accident, he became a drivers' manager.
