Red Bull F1 Takes the Shroud Off the RB8

Red Bull Racing F1 has revealed its 2012 Formula 1 car the RB8. The team has a lot to prove after two seasons of simultaneous drivers' championship and teams' championship success.

The RB8 had to be totally redesigned compared to last year's car because last year's car was designed around the blown exhaust diffuser. That exhaust allowed the team to run a higher rear ride height, so the ride height has been lowered compared to last year to cope with the new exhaust.

"We’ve kept more or less the same chassis shape, but had to drop the nose just in front of the front bulkhead, which, in common with many other teams, has led us to I think I’d probably say a slightly ugly looking nose," Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey.

It is always difficult when looking at the reveal of a new Formula 1 car. The teams are very secretive about details because they want to keep a performance advantage for as long as possible. Red Bull is remaining very tight lipped about its 2012 car. It has a lot to defend in the 2012 season.

Prettier than the Ferrari, but not the McLaren. We'll see what magic Adrian Newey has shoe horned into this one!

The new rules don't make aesthetics any favours, some might try to put lipstick in the baboon to make it prettier, but pretty it doesn't end up being... sadly I think Mclaren were sandbaggin' they to ...
