Rimac Electric Super Car Makes Claimed 1088hp Through Four Electric Motors (UPDATED)

*UPDATE* Rimac did not add new any new information about the Concept_One but did provide more pictures. The car is a long, low-slung coupe where the driver sits far behind the front axle, reminiscent of a modern, front-engine Ferrari. You can also visit its web site to see the e30-chassis BMW M3 that it is using as a test mule for its electric motor and battery technology.

Rimac plans to unveil its concept super car, the Concept _One, tomorrow, September 13, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car has four electric motors, two powering the front wheels and two powering the rear wheels, and Rimac claims that it makes 1088hp and is capable of a 0-100kph time of 2.8 seconds. Each motor is controlled independently by the ECU meaning that the car also has torque vectoring all-wheel drive to increase grip and improve handling. Due to a multiple gears, the Concept_One is limited to 305km/h.

Rimac was founded by Mate Rimac who will also campaign an electric M3 in the e-miglia later this year. The race runs from Munich to St. Moritz. Rimac is using the M3 as a test mule for its batteries, battery management and propulsion systems.

I don't think I really like that car. Electric cars are too heavy for their size. It's interesting however.
