Rowan Atkinson crashes his McLaren F1

Rowan Atkinson suffered a severe accident tonight on his McLaren F1. Mostly known as Mr. Bean the English actor is also a well-known car fanatic, who recently paid a visit to UK’s Top Gear.

According to the authorities, Rowan Atkinson was driving his £650,000 car when he lost control and spun it several times before smashing into a tree and then a lamppost. The accident took place on the A605, near Haddon, Cambridgeshire, shortly after 7.30pm.

Atkinson is reported to have left by his foot the interior of his crashed car and according to a spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service the actor was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with minor injuries.

One onlooker said: “Rowan is lucky to be alive.”

This is not the first time Rowan Atkinson crashes his exquisite supercar. Back in 1999 the 56-year old actor wrecked its front as he crashed into the back of a Rover Metro in Lancashire.

Atkinson bought the McLaren F1 to celebrate the success of his movie in the role of Mr Bean.

Apparently the McLaren isn't too bad, they are worth about £2 million for a good road going example today so it is worth screwing it back together!
