Red Bull and Infiniti have repeatedly said that they want to work together on road cars in the future, but the only vehicle to come from that partnership so far is the Infiniti FX Sebastian VettelFX Sebastian VettelInfiniti FX Sebastian VettelJapan, 2011 > present5 photos
. Now, after Infiniti became the title sponsor of the Red Bull team, the rumors that they are working on a sports car have returned.

As part of the title sponsorship agreement, Infiniti will provide technical support to the team, especially its KERS.

"It's on the table to do a proper high-performance edition of one of our cars, with the F1 team taking technical leadership on the project.

"At the moment it is nothing more than a discussion, but it's clear that the team would like to use its expertise in areas beyond F1, and we'd like to do something performance wise with them. The opportunity is there for the future now we have a long-term partnership and established working relationship in place," said Simon Sproule, Infiniti communications manager.

However, Infiniti says that the only way that the car will be made is if Red Bull provides technical support. It does not want to build the car and slap on a Red Bull badge, which is essentially what the Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel is.
