Rumors of the Alfa Romeo 4C's Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated

The 4C has been repeatedly delayed, just like Alfa Romeo in the US

is a real thing that will be made. The two-seat sports coupe has been delayed more times than a Southwest Airlines flight. The current rumor is that the car will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March and go on sale late in 2013.

The 4C is still slated to use a rear-wheel drive 1750cc turbocharged four-cylinder with 300hp and a six-speed manual transmission. Alfa is aiming for a weight of roughly 1000kg.

Alfa still wants to use the car as a halo car for its relaunch in the US in late 2013, but that relaunch has been as delayed at the 4C.

The safe bet is to wait for Sergio Marchionne to give his speech on the state of Fiat on October 30 before getting our hopes up too much.
