that will go on sale in February.

The big change for the Ibiza Cupra is its all-new styling based on the new Ibiza. Seat has opted for strong creases and long, straight lines on the new car. The new grill is horizontally-oriented with large air intakes and LED running lights. From the side, the car has equally straight, creased lines. At the rear, the car has a diffuser and sharply cut taillights.

Inside, the Cupra is pushing minimalism and offers two-tone, sport leather seats.

“The new Ibiza CUPRA is a perfect example of how we at SEAT bring together the very latest technologies from the VolkswagenVolkswagenVolkswagenGermany, 1938 > present98 models

Group to create a unique and highly rewarding overall package,” said Dr. Matthias Rabe, vice president for R&D at Seat.

The engine and transmission comes from the VW parts bin with the supercharged and turbocharged 1.4 TSI with 180ps and 250Nm and a seven-speed DSG with electronic limited-slip differential. That gets it to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds, and it uses 5.9l/100km. The top speed of the new model is 228km/h.

Options include the Seat Portable System- a removable navigation system. It has a 5in screen that is removable and also incorporates the hands-free phone. Seat plans to add internet connectivitiy later next year.

Buyers can also opt for larger APR performance brakes.
