Eight-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb added another victory to his tally at the Rally Mexico this weekend. It was the sixth consecutive time that he was won the rally.
Ford had a strong start when Jari-Matti Latvala maintained first through much of the day on Friday but broke a suspension component and dropped down the rankings. Further problems later in the rally led Latvala to eventually retire.
Loeb's teammate Mikko Hirvonen came in second giving Citroen a one-two finish.
Petter Solberg had two tire punctures on Friday but had strong performance for the rest of the rally. He managed third place overall.
The WRC World Championship standings look exactly like the results in this rally. Loeb is in first with 66 points; Hirvonen is in second with 50 points; and Petter Solberg is in a close third with 47 points. Mads Ostberg is in distant fourth place with 28 points.
The next WRC competition is the Rally Portugal from March 29-April 1.
