unveiled in Berlin the model's second generation focusing on the performance of a sports car and the comfort of a luxury saloon. The Panamera marks the debut of a new platform, new engines and receives changes in terms of size, design and technology.

 

The second generation of the Panamera is the first model to receive the new Porsche MSB platform that reduces the weight of the vehicle through a more extensive use of aluminum in the main structure. The model is now 35mm longer (5050mm), 5mm wider (1935mm) and 5mm higher.

 

Despite having grown only 5mm wide, the A-shaped air intakes and the drawn bar on the radiator grille at the front of the Panamera give the feeling that this increase was more substantial. The hood has an arrow-shaped design and has a prominent powerdome resulting in a lower front thanks to the compact design of the engines. Daytime running lights with four-point LED are available in three different versions. The profile of the side windows has also been redesigned: a visually continuous surface together with the lines on the back, creating a visual link with the Porsche 911. The rear's most prominent component is without any doubts the rear lights with three dimensions LED with integrated four-point brake lights. The rear lights are connected by a belt in LED. The Panamera 4S and 4S Diesel can be recognized by the round tailpipes, while in the Panamera Turbo they are trapezoidal.

 

The initial range of the new generation will feature three all-wheel-drive versions with new V6 and V8 Porsche engines. The Panamera TurboPorsche Panamera TurboGermany, 2016 > present has the most powerful petrol engine in the range, a V8 biturbo 4.0 with 550hp and a maximum torque of 770Nm. It can reach 100km/h in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 306km/h. The announced average consumption is 9.4 l/100km with CO2 emissions of 214g/km.

 

The V6 biturbo engine with 2.9 liter Panamera 4SPorsche Panamera 4SGermany, 2016 > present delivers a maximum power of 440hp and 550Nm of torque. The Panamera 4S can reach 100km/h in just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 289km/h. The combined consumption is 8,2l/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 186g/km CO2.

 

One of the firsts in the second generation Panamera is a new eight-cylinder diesel engine combined with all-wheel drive system. It is the most powerful ever diesel engine in a Porsche series-production model with 422hp and 850Nm torque. The Panamera 4S DieselPorsche Panamera 4S DieselGermany, 2016 > present can reach 285km/h and is currently the fastest production model with diesel engine to reach the 100 km/h mark in 4.5 seconds. The announced consumption is 6.8l/100km and CO2 emissions of 178g/km.

 

The new Panamera shows a completely new interior. In many areas, surfaces with touch commands replace traditional keys and high resolution screens blend inside. To take on board the experience of comfort the new Panamera features new equipment options such as sunroof, seats with massage, ambient light and a High-End 3D Burmester sound system.

 

The Panamera is equipped with various assistance equipment, standard and optional, that make driving easier and safer. The most important of the new systems include night vision assistant, using a thermal camera to detect people and large animals, displaying them in the cockpit in accent color, while issuing a warning.

 

The new Porsche Panamera can already be ordered and is scheduled arrival to dealers in November.
