The downside to the hatchback is that the five-door Rapid will be able to carry less than the current car, but Skoda plans to tweak the styling and make the five-door a more stylish vehicle than the current Rapid. 

The Vision D concept will provide inspiration for the look of the five-door Rapid. Engines will be the same as the Rapid with a 1.6-liter TDI and 1.2-liter TSI at launch.

Pricing for the five-door will start at more than a comparable notchback Rapid but less than the new Golf.
