has presented the first public plans for a new brand museum in one of its oldest factories that it plans to renovate at its headquarters in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. It believes that the renovations will be completed in December 2012. The planning for the new museum began in 2009.

The new building will have 1,800m² of floor space and 45 Skoda vehicles, including the brand's early bicycles and motorcycles. It will add vehicles to its museum regularly as they are restored and have alternating exhibitions.

The museum will be divided into three separate areas. The first showcases the brand's classic cars. The second shows the brand's history starting at its founding and moving to the present day. The last part will show the production and restoration of Skoda's cars. There will be a visible workshop where classic Skodas will be in different states of restoration.

There will also be a 930m² hall for large events like revealing new cars. It will be able to open to the rest of the museum if needed.

“Skoda's rich past will not only be presented in depth in the new museum, but also brought to life in an emotional way for the first time,” said the head of the museum Margit Adamova Cerna.

Skoda has had a museum since 1995 that was expanded again in 1996.
