Smart Crossover Due in 2016 Based on New Smart Fortwo

is not about to leave that new market alone. It plans to add a small SUV to its lineup in 2016 based on the next generation car. 

Smart had originally planned to build a crossover based on the Fortwosmart FortwoGermany, 1997 > present3 series

in 2005, but it never saw production. Not much is know about the diminutive Smart crossover yet. While based on the Fortwo platform, it will have unique styling and all-wheel drive will be available. 

The new generation Fortwo is slated to begin production next year.
