Two more 2010 F1 cars revealed

This week saw the unveiling of two other F1 cars for the 2010 season. Force India and Red Bull presented the VJM03 and the RB6 respectively. With this two presentations only newcomers Lotus, US F1 and Campos haven’t yet showed their challengers for the 2010 championship.

Force India

For the 2010 season Force India team will be running with the VJM03, a car that has the high nose and the shark-fin engine cover, common features in many of this year’s cars.

After last year’s season, where Force India captured its first ever pole position and podium finish, the team is looking to continue its improvement and for more success.

According to Force India boss Vijay Mallya the objective of his team is to score "more points and more podiums" in the 2010 season starting in March in Bahrain and his expectations and confidence seem high, "We've learnt from our experiences and we've come out a better team: resilient, resourceful and now resurgent. I hope 2010 will see this great progress carrying forward.”

Behind the wheel of the new VJM03 team Force India will have Adrian Sutil and Vitantonio Liuzzi, with Paul di Resta staying in the test driver position.

Red Bull Racing

On Wednesday it was the time for team Red Bull to unveil its 2010 RB6. The F1 designed by Adrian Newey and that will be driven by Mark Webber and Sebastien Vettel throughout the season seems an evolution of the RB05, which obtained good results in last year’s season.

The RB6 design shows a more extreme V-nose, has highly-crafted sidepods and also features the shark fin engine cover.

According to Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing's chief technical officer, “The car is very much an evolution of the 2009 car – there is a big family likeness. We tried to refine and evolve it rather than go to new concepts. As such, the car looks similar with elements such as the chassis and pull-rod rear suspension retained.”
