Uma Thurman stars at Giulietta’s international campaign

Uma Thurman has been chosen by Alfa Romeo to star on the advertising campaign of the new Giulietta. Together with Shakespeare’s verses “We are such stuff as dreams are made on” the famous actress will be featuring in the international campaign that is set to reveal the multifaceted soul of the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta before its presentation to the public at Italian dealerships scheduled for 22 and 23 May.

Known for combining the ice-cold, untainted image with aggressiveness, bravery, dynamism and beauty, the star of films such as Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill will personify the various souls of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, a car said to be “agile in the toughest situations and comfortable on everyday roads.”

The international campaign has been created by Leo Burnett and will feature on TV, press, posters, radio and web, across all the main countries in Europe. In the campaign a parallelism is created between Uma Thurman and the Alfa Romeo Giulietta as the five characters the actress plays are a reflection of the features of the car. Making the connection with the 1950s model Alfa Romeo intends to transmit the idea that the new Giulietta is a dream that becomes reality.

For the press and poster campaign Uma Thurman was photographed in black and white by famous Italian photographer, Fabrizio Ferri.

The TV commercial directed by Kevin Fitzgerald was entirely filmed in the USA. In it Uma Thurman plays five roles, five different women, each one of them representing a different soul of the Giulietta. The commercial will air on the 16th of May and will count with a sound track by Maestro Flavio Ibba.

The new Giulietta is set to relaunch the Italian brand in one of the most important segments in Europe. The new model will be available in a wide range of versions created by intersecting two outfits (Progression and Distinctive), two customisations packs (Pack Sport and Pack Premium), two different seat fabric upholstery, leather upholstery, eight types of alloy rims and nine body colours. On its commercial launch the Giuietta customers will be able to choose between a line-up of four turbo engines all Euro 5 compliant and with standard "Start&Stop" system to reduce fuel consumption and emissions: two petrol versions and two diesel versions. The range is completed by the Quadrifoglio Verde 1750 TBi - 235 HP.
