Venturi America: the sports car “buggy”

Venturi has presented at the Paris Motor Show its new electric car the America, in what is said by the brand to be a combination of “both the values of traditional America and those resulting from new awareness of ecological issues.”

The Venturi America is a new-era “buggy”, a high-powered ightweight vehicle with a chassis that has been specially designed to suit its particularly high body. Nevertheless, the America is an acceleration car which passes the green attitude, while showing-off as a luxury technological product.

Sacha Lakic, the designer behind the America describes it as “a contemporary sculpture in movement, both simple and sophisticated, and charged with emotion : the purpose of each one of its curves is to give both visual and tactile pleasure.”

The America marks the launch of the Venturi North America in Columbus, Ohio. This new site will join and work in parallel with the ones in Monaco and France and enable the brand to pursue its technical and commercial development in the United States.

The new model from Venturi borrows its engine from the new Fétish, the VM300, with over 300 hp and torque of 380 Nm. Derived from that of the new Fétish, the America's chassis has been treated to specific development.

The America offers good versatility as it combines two exclusive automobile worlds as a sports car and an all-terrain leisure vehicle. According to Sacha Lakic: “Just as comfortable on the secondary highway network in the USA as on narrow mountain roads in Europe, or even fast earth tracks, this car of a new kind offers unique driving pleasure comprised of precision, acceleration and gliding.”
