Vettel Becomes First Driver to Test New Jersey GP Course

Vettel gave some VIPs passenger laps in the Infiniti

Sebastian Vettel became the first driver in the world yesterday to drive the proposed course for the New Jersey Grand Prix in Weehawken, New Jersey, just across the Hudson River from Manhattan.

. David Coulthard was also there, and the two men gave several passenger laps to attendees at the press conference. 

Race promoter Leo Hindery says that the plan is for the race to begin next year. 

"It's been fantastic to be the first to drive the new circuit. I was able to get some good speed up in the Infiniti and it's clear that it is going to be a big challenge in a Formula One car. With such a great setting too, I can't wait to get back here and race in 2013," said Vettel.
