Volkswagen Executive Eyed as Next Opel CEO

Neumann moved from Continental to VW and appears headed for Opel.

according to the Financial Times Deutschland newspaper.

Neumann left Volkswagen during the summer and has a non-compete clause in his contract. If he is selected, Neumann will not be able to be hired until summer 2013. According to the newspaper, Neumann is already in negotiations with Opel and could start as soon as the clause expires. 

Previously, Neumann was CEO on Continental. His previous position at VW was as head of its Chinese operations for three years.

During the summer, General Motors removed Karl-Fredrich Stracke as Opel CEO, and Thomas Sedran was appointed in his place in a provisional role.
