Volkswagen Group Deliveries Reach Over 6 Million Through August

Group sold over 6 million cars in the first eight months of the year for the first time ever. Deliveries were 6.17 million cars for the period from January to August, up 4.5% since the same period last time. For August, Volkswagen Group delivered 720,400 cars, up 0.1% from the previous August.

“The Volkswagen Group is in robust shape despite the economic uncertainty, and our development in the period to August remained satisfactory.

“Notwithstanding the difficult conditions, we still expect deliveries for the full year to exceed the prior-year level,” said Volkswagen Group Sales Manager Christian Klingler.

Regionally, Volkswagen Group has delivered 2.39 million cars in Europe, down 3.3% from January to August. It has delivered 593,700 cars North America in the same period, up 10.9%, 447,600 cars in South America, down 13.7%, and 2.3 million cars in Asia, up 16.2%.

By brand, Volkswagen Cars has sold 3.84 million cars worldwide from January to August, up 3.1%; AudiAudiAudiGermany, 1909 > present83 models
