At the end of the year, Volkswagen Group is celebrating that it has created 248,000 jobs, a 76% increase, since 2007, including 123,000 direct jobs with VolkswagenVolkswagenVolkswagenGermany, 1938 > present98 models

Group and 125,000 jobs with suppliers. The group employs 573,000 people worldwide, 45% of which are in Germany.

"The number of employees has grown strongly over the past six years. At the same time, we have also significantly improved our productivity and earnings,” Dr. Horst Neumann, head of human resources at VW AG.

It should be noted that many of the new jobs are not actually new hires but come from VW Group’s acquisition of Scania, MAN, PorschePorschePorscheGermany, 1931 > present43 models

VW’s latest goal is to add more young people to its staff. It is actively recruiting apprentices to train to maintain the company’s high quality.
