. It will be able to build 300,000 cars a year. Volkswagen allocated the money to build the factory in July 2010, and it has been finished earlier than planned. The factory will also build SkodasSkodaCzech Rep., 1895 > present57 models

The new factory employs 3,700 people and pressed bodies, does paint and does final assembly. There is also a training center to educate new employees. The entire site occupies 1.3 million square meters.

The factory uses geothermal energy to provide power and for heating and cooling. There are also solar cells for extra energy production. 

Volkswagen intends to build 4 million cars a year in China by 2018.
