Volvo will be shuttering the plant in 2013 that it co-owns with Pininfarina that produces the C70. That means that the hard top convertible will not be getting a third generation. To say farewell to its beautiful, if obscure, model, Volvo is producing a special package it calls Inscription.
The Inscription package adds 18in wheels and LED running lights and a blacked out grill both surrounded in chrome. On the interior, the C70 gets black, Sovereign Hide leather in Off Black or Calcite and a leather dashboard. The package gets unique carpets and handbrake leather. The steering wheel, gearshift lever and sports pedals have aluminum inlays.
It is available with the turbocharged five-cylinder petrol-powered T5 (230 hp/320 Nm) and the two five-cylinder turbodiesels - the D4 (177 hp/400 Nm) and D3 (150 hp/350 Nm), and it is available in three colors: Black Stone, Black Sapphire Metallic and Ice White.
The Inscription package also adds Inscription logos on the front headrests.
The C70 Inscription will be limited to 2000 units. It will be shown at the LA Auto Show on November 16, and sales will start the same day.
