After last weekend's weak slate of races, anything would be better. This weekend is not a major improvement, but it provides some respite until next weekend when Formula 1 returns.
This weekend is the DTM's 49-lap race around the 3,629km layout of the Nürburgring. The race will begin at 1:30pm local time on Sunday, August 18.
Mike Rockenfeller has pulled out a strong lead in the championship with 94 points, compared to Bruno Spengler in second place with 67 points.

This weekend is the 1000km of Suzuka for the Super GT teams. The race will begin at 12:30pm local time on Sunday, August 18, for a 173-lap race around the 5.807km (3.609 mile), 17-corner track.
Takuya Izawa and Takashi Kogure in a Honda HSV-010 GT are the current leaders the GT500 class with 35 points. One point behind them are Juichi Wakisaka and Hiroaki Ishiura in a Lexus SC430.
In the GT300 class, Hideki Mutoh and Yuhki Nakayama lead in a Honda CR-Z with 49 points. Shinichi Takagi and Takashi Kobayashi in a Honda CR-Z are in second with 40 points.
NASCAR has a race at 12:00pm ET for 200 laps at the 2.0-mile long Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, August 18.
