owners in Norway and are asking them to attend. The Norwegian EV Association will also be attending the record attempt. The current record is 225 cars.

The event will start outside of Oslo and finish at the Oslo Town Hall. The record requires all of the cars to be moving over a 5m prescribed route to claim the title.  The attempt is open to all electric vehicles, but the Leaf is expected to make up a large portion of the cars because it is among the top-five selling vehicles in Norway.

In the week leading up to the attempt, Nissan is setting up a test drive center in Oslo from August 19-31 where people will be able to try out the Leaf.

Nissan has even created a special Nordic Pack for the Leaf in Norway that adds heated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, heated door mirrors, heated headlight washers and battery heater.

"Nissan is delighted to be at the heart of this fun event, a great way to celebrate a zero emissions future," said Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Director of Electric Vehicles at Nissan Europe.

Norway offers EV buyers several incentives including sales tax exemption, free parking in city centers and permission to drive in bus lanes.

The Oslo city council has just ordered 1,000 electric vehicles for the municipal fleet that will be delivered over the next three years.
