The Auto-Union Type D was a race car developed by the racing department from Horch. It's infamous for its less than easy handling but also for its power and acceleration.
Debuted at the 1939 Reims Grand Prix, the Type D survived World War II and is currently at the Audi Museum in Ingolstadt.

The Auto-Union company results from the merging of four German car producers in 1932: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer joined efforts and established the shareholding company Auto-Union so as to survive the Great Depression of the 1930’s.
