Bugatti’s extremely high-performance model EB Veyron was first revealed at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, in its earliest prototype form. The car was immediately announced as having been conceived with the purpose of being the world’s fastest, most powerful and most expensive automobile ever to exist in history.
A few months later that year, at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show, the production-ready version of the Veyron was finally demonstrated by Bugatti. The formally dubbed “Bugatti EB Veyron 16.4” was supposed to start being factory-produced in 2003, but some problems with the car’s handling and high-speed stability made its production be delayed for an indefinite period of time.
Finally, in September 2005, the Château Saint Jean received the final, ready-to-build version of the awfully powerful Bugatti Veyron.

Since the first prototype showed at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti has been presenting its Veyron model for quite a few times on several events. Later that year, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, an almost ready-to-produce version of the Bugatti Veyron was finally unveiled and the actual model would ‘descend’ from that version. The impending supercar had been given slight bodywork and mechanic adjustments since the previous prototype, such as an enlarged interior cabin.
Although the production run of this supercar from Bugatti should have started in 2003, as the brand has announced, the high-speed instability that it suffered from caused its production to be indefinitely postponed. Fortunately for this model, Bugatti’s holder Volkswagen Group underwent some administrative changes and its new chairman immediately ordered for the operations on the Veyron to be retaken, so that the car would finally be corrected.
Bugatti Engineering chief Wolfgang Schreiber, former engineer at Volkswagen, took over the ambitious project and worked on the imminent supercar. In 2005, at last, the final version of the Bugatti Veyron was ready and could be seen in September at the Château Saint Jean, France. The fastest, most powerful and most expensive car to have ever been built in history has now crossed the barrier between the prototype and the production-run vehicle.

The Bugatti Veyron is powered by a 8.0-liter W16 mid-engine with four turbochargers. The quad-turbo W16 is capable of up to 1001 hp and makes the car a top speed of 253 km / h (407 km / h) by a four-wheel drive system.
The Veyron transmission works with a 7-speed manual transmission, which is operated via shift paddles behind the steering wheel - there is no clutch pedal.

This 2-door, 2-seat roadgoing sports coupe was originally conceived by Bugatti designers Hartmut Warkuss and Jozef Kabaň.
Besides its extreme aerodynamics and very round-edged yet aggressive body lines, the the Bugatti Veyron also counts with an automatically expanded rear spoiler. The Veyron’s bodyshell benefits as well from an anti-bodylift system that pulls the car downwards when driving at high speeds thanks to a diffuser effect.
