The ATS was unveiled at the 2012 NAIAS and is available with three engines. There is a 2.0 liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine with 270hp and 260lb-ft of torque. Also a 2.4l naturally aspirated, four-cylinder with 200hp and 188lb-ft of torque. Finally, the top of the range engine is a 3.6l V6 with 320hp and 267lb-ft of torque.
According to Cadillac the ATS as the only car in its class with active sound deadening as standard.
There are three microphones positioned inside the car that monitor interior noise. Like noise canceling headphones, the car detects the noise and emits sound waves to cancel it out. At idle, Cadillac claims that it makes the ATS 3 decibels, or roughly half, more quiet than without the system.
