Honda will enter into the World Touring Car Championship next season with a Civic powered by a new 1.6-liter, direct injected turbocharged engine. While two cars will compete next season, Tiago Monteiro will drive in the car in three races this season starting at Suzuka in October.

The cars are being prepared by Honda Racing Team JAS headquartered in Milan, Italy. The team's other driver will be Gabriele Tarquini.
