Ford launched the Everest concept, a seven-seat SUV model, at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The concept serves as a preview of a new model and is focused especially on the Chinese market.

The midsize SUV was designed with a focus on off-road capacity and should be produced in partnership with JMC, Ford's joint venture partner in China.

The design of the Everest concept was created by Ford's Australian design team. According to Ford China Director, John Lawler, the concept "offers beautiful design, premium refinement and rugged capabilities in equal measure."

The design of the vehicle includes some of the key elements that are part of the current visual features of Ford models, including the large front trapezoidal grille, next to a prominent lower bumper.
