Built to join the 360 Modena and the 360 Spider, the Challenge Stradale was a version created by Ferrari to offer drivers the performance that only a true racing car for road use can provide. To built it the Italian make used all the experience it collected from the Ferrari Challenge International Championships and the FIA GT races.
The connection to racing can be spotted on the significant weight reduction, its engine set up, aerodynamics, braking systeam an the F1 style gearbox.
Based on the 360 Modena, only the strictly necessary equipment for performance or safety have been kept in the 360 Challenge Stradale. By focusing on materials, construction and design optimisaton, Ferrari technicians created a light and fast berlinetta with a very definite racing set-up.
With the Challenge Stradale, Ferrari engineers pushed the car's aerodynamic concepts. Compared to the 360 Modena it had a stiffer, lower racing set-up as well as and a 50% increased downforce.
