The Fiat E.S.V. (Experimental Savety Vehicle) was a study presented at the Third International Technical Conference on the Experimental Safety Vehicle in Washington, 1972.
The vehicle was Fiat's first study in the 1500 lb. weight class resullting from crash tests made with the 500 saloon. The car features a strengthended structure and protective, flexible elements at the front and rear overhand.
In order to make up for the increased weight, a more powerful engine (600 cc.) and larger tyres were fitted.
