The new lineup will be available in three different body styles: 5-door, 4-door and wagon. The engine highlight of the new line-up is the 2.0L EcoBoost GTDi, which boasts 176.5kW of power at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 340 Nm between 1900-3500 rpm while consuming 7.9L/100km. Ford claim this new engine ‘improves driving performance by 25 percent, reduces fuel consumption by 20 percent and lowers 15 percent CO2 emissions’. This is also aided by the PowerShift dual-clutch transmission, which Ford say can reduce fuel consumption by up to nine percent when compared to traditional automatic four-speed transmissions.
In terms of exterior design the work has been made to further emphasize the kinetic design signatures in each of the three body styles while incorporating new technologies such as LED lighting.
