from Norway has set the European distance record on a single tank of fuel by going 2,536km (1,576 miles) on a single 71 liter tank of diesel.
The pair drove from Helsinki, Finland, to Oslo, Norway, and managed 2.796l/100km (84 miles per gallon)
The Mondeo ECOnetic comes with start/stop, regenerative braking, active grill shutters, ECO mode, shift indicator, low-friction engine and transmission oil and low rolling resistance tires. It is certified at 114g/km of CO2.
The duo set the European distance record in September 2011 as well when they drove a Mondeo ECOnetic wagon from Murmansk, Russia, to Uddevalla, Sweden, via Oslo, Norway, on their journey. It managed 2,161km (1343 miles) for a fuel economy figure of 3.2l/100km (88.3mpg).
The Mondeo did not beat the world distance record on a single tank of 1,626 miles that was set by an American couple earlier this year in a VW Passat TDi.
