The new engine is the Si4 2.0-liter petrol with turbocharging and direct injection that produces 240ps and 340Nm of torque. It emits 224g/km of CO2. It replaces the previous Si6 naturally aspirated V6. The new four-cylinder is more powerful but produces 14% less CO2. The engine will not be available in the UK.

Land Rover is making Evoque equipment available on the Freelander. The car gets a better interior with a wider array of available colors, a new center console, a new 7in color touch screen infotainment system, a 825W sound system with 17 speakers, and rear view camera. The car now comes with a smart key that drivers can leave in their pocket.
