In 2012 Nissan launched the Track Pack for the GT-R. It combines the lighter, forged 20in Rays wheels with better brakes, removed back seats, a new suspension setup and revised interior. While totally street legal, the Track Pack is meant for drivers who want to drive to the track, be competitive and drive home.
The suspension for the Track Pack was developed by Nissan development driver Toshio Suzuki. It includes stiffer springs and adjustable, Bilstein shock absorbers. Nissan admits that almost all compliance has been dialed out of the suspension in favor of a hardcore track setup. The Track Pack is not going to be very road friendly. It also added the 20in, forged Rays wheels from the Spec-V and Dunlop SP MAXX GT600 DSST CTT run-flat tires. Nissan also fitted a switch that drastically softens the dampers to make the car more livable on the road.
