Elantra was introduced in 1990. It was sold worldwide under different names: Lantra in Australia and some European markets, Avante in Korea and Malaysia. In 2001, the name Elantra was applied to all markets, except in Korea and Malaysia. The most recent series of the Elantra was launched in 2010. Elantra has previously been sold has a 5-door hatchback, but currently it’s only available has a 4-door sedan.
