Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution (Japan, 1992-present)

Lancer Evolution was launched in 1992. Evo, as it is also known, it’s a high-performance version of the popular Mitsubishi Lancer. Evo debuted as 4-door sedan, but a 5-door hatchback version was introduced with the launch of the ninth generation. Intended only for the Japanese market, the high demand abroad turned the model international. Today, Evo is sold in Japan, North America, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. The current series, Evolution X, will be kept in production until 2013.
