Evo debuted as 4-door sedan, but a 5-door hatchback version was introduced with the launch of the ninth generation. Intended only for the Japanese market, the high demand abroad turned the model international. Today, Evo is sold in Japan, North America, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
