History, Development and General Characteristics

The Italian car builder put the sixth series Lancia Aurelia on the markets in 1957.
The last generation of the Aurelia brought heavier and less powerful cars, as they were more and more worried with luxury features than with performance.
In 1958, Lancia chose to stop the production of the the sixth and last generation of the Aurelia.

Engine and Transmission

For the last Aurelias, maximum engine power was reduced to 112 hp. However, capacity for their V6 front engine remained at the 2451 cc.
Their top speed was estimated to be 110 mi/h (177 km/h), which is also less than in the previous series.
Rear-wheel drive and 4-speed manual transmission systems remained standard for the last Aurelia series.

While the B24 convertible was scarcely revised and remained very similar to that of the fifth series, the sixth coupes had a bit more visible changes, such as their vent windows and a characteristic chrome strip along the hood.

For the six series of its lifetime, the Aurelia model range was completed with coupe, sedan and convertible versions. It is estimated that 13.488 copies of the Aurelia were built since its production began in 1950 ...  more
