History
On 7 July 1908, the Mercedes 140 hp, driven by Christian Lautenschlager, was the first to cross the finish line at the French Grand Prix. It was DMG third attempt at winning the French GP. Second and third place belonged to Benz’s cars while Opel was out of the podium.
The track record was set by Otto Salzer at 126.5 km/h. Otto was also in a 140 hp Mercedes.
