Mini released the concept for the third generation Mini Cooper during its 2013 Mini Design@Home event. While the actual car will look different, some design elements will carry over to the new car. The car itself does not actually exist. It is presented as a 3D hologram created from computer sketches and the 1:1 clay model made of the car.
The diagonal indicator lights between the hood and door opening will also make it onto the car on sale. The chrome ring that separates the roof from the windows will make it onto some models. At the rear, there will be larger taillights that wrap around a small portion of the body.
The concept also will get a small hood scoop, rear spoiler and center exhaust. These may all make it to the Cooper S version but will not be on the base cars. There are also air outlets just behind each wheel on the concept that may also make it to future models.
The interior of the Vision is pure concept, except for one thing that may confirm a previous rumor. The concept photos show the speedometer and tachometer located behind the steering wheel, instead of centrally.
