Land Rover will have a two-door Evoque convertible concept at the Geneva Motor Show. Autocar revealed the news. The concept will be on display at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6, and if it is popular at the show, engineering would begin immediately.
The Evoque convertible could use any of the powertrain options available on the standard Evoque. About 75kg of added bracing would be needed to keep the car from flexing too much without a top. It could be two- or four-wheel drive. It uses a soft top, electric roof with integrated, pop-up rollover protection in the rear headrests.
Land Rover's capacity for building Evoques is basically full. It has built 50,000 and has orders for 60,000 more.
If reaction is positive, the Evoque convertible could be on sale within two years, and it would cost about £30,795.
