has presented a new concept at the Paris Motor Show on September 27. The e-XIV Concept is an electric concept SUV with a small 1.0-liter range extending engine. There is also a solar cell on the roof to further add to the car's range.
The car is based on its previous e-XIV concepts shown in Frankfurt in 2011 and Geneva in 2012. This is the first version that uses the range extender. The vehicle modernizes the idiom of SUVs. It has a very think C-pillar but thin B-pillar and steeply raked A-pillar. Because the small engine does not need much cooling, the front of the car is mostly solid except for some lower mesh.
The e-XIV is 4.16m long, 1.79m wide and 1.575m high, and it has a 2.6m long wheelbase.
The e-XIV has four bucket seats featuring carbon fiber trim. It has an LCD driver display and infotainment screen. The solar cell on the roof does not charge the battery but provides power for the air conditioning and other interior functions.
The e-XIV is powered by a 107hp electric motor with a16kWh battery and an 80km range. The two-cylinder, 1.0-liter petrol engine provides 27hp of power and adds 600km to the range. With the engine running, the car emits 45g/km of CO2. The car's max speed is 150km/h.
The e-XIV concept remains a concept for now.
