Audi reveals new Q3 and RS Q3

for the first time since it s launch back in 2011. The new Q3 and RS Q3 get a refreshed design but also improved engine output and technical innovations. The renewed model will reach the market in 2015.

The new Q3 maintains a three TFSI and three TDI clean-diesel four-cylinder engine. However output has been increased and fuel consumption and CO2 emissions reduced by as much as 17 percent. With displacements ranging from 1.4 and 2.0 liters, the outputs goes from 120hp to 220hp. All the engines comply with the limits of the Euro6 emission standard. The consumption and CO2 reductions are made possible in part by the Audi cylinder on demand technology.

The Audi Q3 gets a redesigned chassis that combines handling with safety, while comprehensive fine-tuning has enhanced the comfort within the SUV. Audi drive select enables the driver to adjust key technology modules, including the optional active dampers, to suit his or her personal preferences.

The revamped SUV gets wheels with sizes going from 16 up to 20 inches in diameter. The suspension has been tuned for high rolling comfort. Hill-descent assist is available as an option.

Design

The design changes of the new Q3 can be easily spotted on the grille, that now features a frame connected with the headlights creating a larger impact. The bumpers have also been updated and the redesigned headlights come standard with xenon plus technology and LED daytime running lights.  

t’s easy to spot the facelifted Q3 by its new grille, which is now linked with the headlights to create a greater sense of strength. The bumpers are also new and the internals of the headlights redesigned.
The dimensions of the compact SUV are virtually unchanged. It measures 4.39 meters long, 1.83 meters wide and 1.59 meters high. The wheelbase is unchanged at 2.60 meters .

The new Audi Q3 features a generous list of standard equipment. This can be supplemented with features taken directly from the luxury class, such as the LED interior lighting package and the power-adjustable front seats. With respect to driver assistance systems, the secondary collision brake assist is standard.

New Audi RS Q3

The Audi RS Q3 was updated together with the Q3. The performance SUV saw the output of its  2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine increased by 30hp to 340hp, while torque has increased from 420 to 450Nm. The RS Q3 also now complies to Euro 6 standard.

In terms of performance the new RS Q3 can now accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.8 seconds and to an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. The engine is combined with a refined seven-speed S tronic transmission.

Regarding design the new RS Q3 gets distinctive bumpers. Inside the color black is dominant and the sport seats are optionally available in Fine Nappa leather with diamond quilting. The driver information system offers a special RS menu with lap timer and displays for both oil temperature and boost pressure.

Deliveries of the RSQ3 will begin in the first quarter of 2015.
