The EN-V 2.0 adds climate control, more storage space and all-weather drivability compared to the original

It is really easy to hate concepts like Chevrolet ENV 2.0 (the Electric Networked Vehicle). Every large automaker eventually discusses an earth-friendly, far future concept like this that will never, ever see production. However, Chevrolet it is going to give the ENV 2.0 a pilot program in China so maybe this is not as absurd as it looks.

“Our designers and engineers are exploring a range of options for turning the EN-V concept into a reality. The EN-V 2.0 concept would use technologies such as the mobility Internet, electrification and telematics to help change the automotive landscape and ensure a sustainable future for our industry,”  said Kevin Wale, president and managing director of GM China.

The original ENV concept was shown at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The two-seat car is meant to be an electric car that is connected both to the traffic pattern and to other drivers. It is meant to lower traffic congestion; make parking easier; improve air quality; and be affordable. The 2.0 version adds more storage space and climate controls. GM says that it is going to have pilot programs of the vehicle in China.
