Faster, lighter and more powerful. These are the main differences of the new
Ferrari F12tdf regarding the F12berlinetta. This special edition celebrates the legendary Tour de France road races, a competition
Ferrari dominated during the 50's and 60's.
Only 799 units will be produced of a car that Ferrari describes as "the ultimate expression of the concept of an extreme road car that is equally at home on the track." The official world debut of the F12tdf is scheduled for November 8 at the circuit of Mugello, where Ferrari's Finali Mondiali will take place.
While maintaining the same V12 6.3 liters engine of the standard
F12berlinetta, the output was increased to 780hp and torque to 705Nm. Thanks to it the F12tdf reaches 100km/h in 2.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 340km/h. The average fuel consumption is estimated at 15.4l/100km and CO2 emissions of 360g/km. The F12tdf is combined with a new version of Ferrari's dual-clutch box.
Changes were also introduced in the F12berlinetta bodywork. More aggressive design includes a longer and higher rear spoiler, larger air intakes leading the airflow through the side of the vehicle and also new rear diffuser and new wheel arch louvres. The F12tdf rolls on 20 inches alloy wheels.
According to Ferrari the changes in the F12tdf body allowed to almost double the car's aerodynamic efficiency and enable a weight reduction of 110kg compared to the F12berlinetta. The weight can be reduced up to 1415kg thanks to the the use of optional lighter materials.
The interior of the F12tdf was deliberately stripped and includes door panels finished in carbon fiber. Most cabin is trimmed in Alcantara and carpets have been replaced by aluminum plates which also serve to demonstrate the competitive nature of the vehicle.
