The FIA Motorsport Council has announced the 12-round calendar for next year’s edition of the World Touring Car Championship. Following a meeting the Council had this Wednesday, October 20th, it was decided to get Belgium back on the programme – with the WTCC round in Zolder – which hadn’t happened since 2005.
Some worth mentioning adjustments are the calendar change for the Spanish round at Valencia, which will happen in September instead of May. The Portuguese round will be switched from last year’s street circuit at Porto to the region of Algarve. Only in Italy it has not yet been decided where will the WTCC event take place.
Thus, the schedule for the 2010 World Touring Car Championship is the following:
March 3rd – Curitiba, Brazil
April 11th – Puebla, Mexico
May 2nd – Marrakech, Morocco
May 23rd – undefined local, Italy
June 20th – Zolder, Belgium
July 4th – Algarve, Portugal
July 18th – Brands Hatch, Kent, Great Britain
August 1st – Brno, Czech Republic
September 5th – Oschersleben, Germany
September 9th – Valencia, Spain
October 31st – Okayama, Japan
November 21st – Macau, China
